The National Museum of the Châteaux of Versailles and Trianon is a site museum occupying the national estate of Versailles, in Yvelines. A former royal residence palace transformed into a museum in 1837 by Louis-Philippe, it is dedicated to presenting the history of France. The collections, comprising approximately 90,000 works, illustrate more than five centuries of history and reflect the dual purpose of the château: a palace once inhabited by sovereigns and a museum dedicated to the "glories of France." The estate includes the château, the Trianon estate, the gardens, the park, as well as other spaces such as the Jeu de Paume Hall, sites of memory of the French Revolution. The site regularly offers exhibitions, performances, and guided tours.
