The Capucins municipal museum is housed in the Notre-Dame des Anges church, built in 1617 by Catherine of Gonzaga, Duchess of Longueville, in the heart of the Capucins park in Coulommiers in Seine-et-Marne. This former convent, decommissioned during the French Revolution, contains a shell grotto with 17th-century religious iconography, a funerary chapel of Italian inspiration recognized as unique in the world. The church was listed as a historical monument in 1930 and the museum is. The collections cover the history of Coulommiers from prehistory to the contemporary period. The museum regularly offers lectures and temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
