Claude-Debussy Birthplace is a municipal museum located in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, in the Yvelines, dedicated to composer Claude Debussy who was born there on August 22, 1862. Integrated into the Ducastel-Vera municipal museum, it is the only museum entirely devoted to Debussy and testifies to the urban history of Saint-Germain-en-Laye from the 17th to the 19th century. The building, whose roofs, courtyard and balustrade staircase have been listed as Historic Monuments since 1972, has retained its historical status as a rental building with a shop and residential apartments. After major restoration work completed in 2024, the museum offers collections dedicated to the composer, an auditorium, new interactive scenography, and hosts a program of concerts and temporary exhibitions.
