The Museum of Local History, installed in the former town hall of Rueil-Malmaison, traces the history of the municipality through thematically organized collections. Labeled since 2003, it preserves artworks, objects and documents constituting local memory, including Maurice Orange's painting "Bonaparte in Egypt Contemplating the Mummy of a King". The museum regularly presents temporary exhibitions and pays particular attention to its collections through scientific inventory work. A room entirely dedicated to a Ptolemaic mummy discovered in 2000 allows visitors to discover the embalming techniques and funeral beliefs of ancient Egypt. The museum also offers free educational workshops to school groups to explore its collections and the history of Rueil-Malmaison.
