Musée Fournaise

Chatou · Yvelines · Île-de-France

The Fournaise Museum, located in Chatou in the Yvelines, occupies the historic site of the Isle of Impressionists. It presents collections of paintings by the minor masters of the Seine's banks, particularly those related to the golden age of this region and the practice of boating. The museum offers a permanent exhibition on Impressionism and hosts temporary exhibitions, including an exhibition dedicated to Renoir and his years in Chatou. The Fournaise Hamlet, an emblematic historic site of the Impressionist movement, complements the museum's offerings. The collections are partially displayed in an original scenographic design.
