The Paul Bédu Cultural Space is a municipal establishment located in Milly-la-Forêt in Essonne, housed since 2000 in the former boys' school that has been transformed into a modern facility. It is founded on the collection bequeathed in 1990 by Gabrielle Lagarde, wife of Paul Bédu, a Parisian collector (1897-1977), comprising drawings, art objects and paintings. Its permanent collections include the Paul Bédu collection, rich in landscapes, portraits and still lifes, as well as notable pieces such as a Gothic Virgin and Child from the 15th century, the Jean Cocteau collection (lithographs, drawings and ceramics) and works by Niki de Saint Phalle. The establishment also offers temporary exhibitions showcasing contemporary visual artists. Open to the public according to the season, the space also welcomes groups and school visits by reservation, with free admission and disabled accessibility.
