The Marmottan Monet Museum, housed in Paul Marmottan's Empire-style mansion in Paris, is a major venue dedicated to Impressionism and nineteenth-century European art. It holds the world's largest collection of works by Claude Monet, including the iconic Impression, Sunrise, as well as Water Lilies and views of the Giverny garden. The museum also preserves the largest public collection of Berthe Morisot, a pioneer of female Impressionism, enriched by works from other masters such as Delacroix, Manet, Degas, and Sisley. Its permanent collections span from the medieval period to the modern era, with a remarkable ensemble of paintings, sculptures, and illuminated manuscripts from the Old Regime and Empire periods. Complementing this heritage, the museum offers temporary exhibitions and welcomes diverse audiences through a varied educational program.
