The Museum of Living History, founded in 1939 and in 2003, is located in Montreuil in Seine-Saint-Denis in a late nineteenth-century residence that belonged to Théophile Sueur, an industrialist and mayor of the municipality. Managed by an association since its creation, it is dedicated to working-class and popular history, particularly to social struggles and labor. In addition to its permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, the museum also functions as an archives and resources center, preserving documentary collections from activists, historians, and political and social movements, available by appointment. Located in the heart of Montreau Park, a property listed as a historic site since 1948, the museum is committed to civic responsibility, particularly in the fight against racism and anti-Semitism.
