The Musée de l'Œuvre Notre-Dame is an art museum located in Strasbourg, in the Bas-Rhin, within the former house of the Œuvre Notre-Dame, an institution responsible since the 13th century for administering the cathedral's construction site. Its collections bear witness to the major role the city played as an artistic center of the Germanic Empire from the 13th to the 16th century. The museum brings together sculptures from the cathedral, notably by Nicolas Gerhaert of Leiden, as well as paintings by Conrad Witz, Hans Baldung Grien and Sébastien Stoskopff, stained glass windows by Peter Hemmel of Andlau, and other medieval and Renaissance artworks. The tour is arranged in harmony with the building's architectural setting, its interior decorations, its courtyards and its Gothic garden. The museum covers Strasbourg and Upper Rhenish art from the Romanesque period to 1681.
