The Alsatian Museum, a French institution since 2003, is located in Strasbourg in the Bas-Rhin. Housed in half-timbered buildings from the 17th century overlooking the banks of the Ill River, the museum explores Alsatian identity from the 18th century to today through everyday objects and reconstructions of domestic interiors such as the Stùb, the kitchen, and the apothecary's shop. Its collections bear witness to regional cultural practices and rituals, as well as the multicultural diversity of the territory. The museum's layout, spread across three buildings, articulates tradition and modernity through a program of exhibitions and activities designed for all audiences. The museum is currently closed for renovation until 2028.
