Musée Maritime de La Rochelle

La Rochelle · Charente-Maritime · Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The Maritime Museum of La Rochelle, located at place Bernard Moitessier, preserves and promotes a heritage linked to the city's port history. Its collections include a heritage fleet of nine floating ships, three of which are open to visitors, as well as a permanent exhibition retracing the history of the La Rochelle port. The establishment also possesses a unique collection of small leisure boats, presented in the former Encan building, which also hosts temporary exhibitions. The museum's spaces offer structured visiting routes and rental services for events. The museum is one of three municipal museums in La Rochelle and operates on a seasonal calendar.
