The Museum of Decorative Arts is located on the ground floor of the Rohan Palace, a building constructed between 1732 and 1742 by architect Robert de Cotte. Its collections occupy the former apartments of the Rohan cardinals as well as the former stables and courtrooms of the palace. The museum traces the evolution of Strasbourg decorative arts from the 17th to the 19th century through works of furniture, ceramics, horology and silverware. It also presents a selection of mechanical toys from the Tomi Ungerer donation. It is part of Strasbourg's municipal network of museums.
