Musée Atelier archéologique du Mausolée de Faverolles

The Museum Workshop for Archaeological Study of the Mausoleum of Faverolles is an institution dedicated to the study and presentation of the remains of a Gallo-Roman mausoleum discovered in the late 1970s in the communal forest of Faverolles, in Haute-Marne, near Langres. The site was excavated between 1981 and 1989, which resulted in the discovery of several thousand stone fragments. The workshop-museum exhibits all the archaeological artifacts from these excavations and also functions as a working space for researchers continuing the study of the monument. It notably houses a reproduction of the mausoleum built at one-quarter its original height by the stone-cutting training workshop of Poinfor in Langres. The museum is open according to a seasonal schedule, from May to October.
