The European Centre for Deported Resistants is located on the historic site of the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp, opened by the Nazis on May 1, 1941 in Alsace. As a memorial and educational space, it brings together the testimonies and memories of resistants and deportees, organized around a visit route that includes the camp, a memorial and a necropolis. The institution fulfills an important educational mission, welcoming thousands of schoolchildren annually and offering guided tours and educational workshops tailored to different audiences. Its collections are based on archives, objects and testimonies that are preserved or documented, accessible notably through educational resources and a historical information website. Located in Natzwiller in the Bas-Rhin department, in the Grand Est region, this site constitutes a major center of national memory.
