The Jeanne d'Arc Museum of Vaucouleurs is dedicated to representations of the character of Jeanne d'Arc through the centuries. Its four sections present a collection of drawings, prints, stained glass cartoons, bronze sculptures and posters illustrating the different symbolics attached to the figure of the Maid of Orleans: virgin, warrior and martyr. The museum notably preserves most of the stained glass cartoons created by the Nancy workshop Höner, Benoît and Janin, which depicted the Johannic epic. Located in Vaucouleurs in the Meuse, the museum is situated in a context where the town played a major role in the history of Jeanne d'Arc, as evidenced by the castle, the Gate of France and other local historical remains. Renovated in 2024, the museum now offers an enriched tour featuring works previously in storage. The institution is part of the network of Meuse Museums and benefits from the label.
