Musée de la chartreuse

Molsheim · Bas-Rhin · Grand Est

The Museum of La Chartreuse is located in Molsheim, in Alsace, in the Bas-Rhin department, within the former house of the Prior of the Carthusian monastery. It occupies a historic building recognizable by its Renaissance gable, situated in the city center near the Place de la Chartreuse. The museum documents the history of the monastery and the life of the monastic community that settled there. The site has been undergoing continuous restoration led by volunteers since 1987, during which several architectural elements of the cloister and cells are gradually being restored. Visits are accessed through the museum's ticketing office.
