The Museum of Gingerbread and Alsatian Popular Art, established in 1996 in Gertwiller, occupies a former 18th-century tithe barn spanning 350 m². It presents more than 10,000 objects tracing the history of gingerbread and traditional Alsatian sweet specialties, as well as elements of popular art bearing witness to regional rural life. The museum is integrated into the Lips House, a family business of artisanal manufacturing founded in 1806, managed since 1977 by Michel Habsiger and operating according to ancestral methods passed down over five generations. The museum's collection comes from more than 50 years of gathering by Michel Habsiger. The establishment, open seven days a week, combines material heritage, local history, and culinary expertise specific to Alsace.
