The Wood Museum of Saulxures-sur-Moselotte, located in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region, is dedicated to woodworking crafts and the forestry heritage of the Vosges. Housed in a hydraulic site dating from 1789, originally a mill and then converted into a sawmill in 1817, the museum presents a collection of antique tools and historical machines that bear witness to the artisanal expertise passed down through generations. The centerpiece of the exhibition is the "Haut-Fer," a vertical-blade saw powered by water, preserved in good working condition. The museum is part of a broader project of the Association for the Protection and Restoration of Heritage, which works to promote local heritage elements including the Church of Saint-Prix, the Jacquot-Jeanpierre organ, and wayside crosses.
