The Normandy Battle Memorial Museum is located in Bayeux, in Calvados, at the gateway to the Landing beaches. It presents the military operations that took place in Normandy during the summer of 1944, covering the entire Battle of Normandy from June 7 to August 29, 1944. The museum displays the key stages of the conflict and the day-by-day progress of the forces involved, constituting an essential preliminary visit before traveling to the region's memorial sites. Located a few kilometers from the historic beaches, it offers visitors a comprehensive understanding of the liberation operations conducted by the Allied forces. The museum is part of a group of three museums managed by the City of Bayeux, alongside the Bayeux Tapestry and the Baron Gérard Museum of Art and History.
