The Alsace Ecomuseum is an open-air museum located in Ungersheim, in the Haut-Rhin. It preserves and promotes an exceptional collection of buildings representative of Alsatian rural life from the Middle Ages to the early twentieth century, among which are timber-framed houses, workshops and buildings that have been relocated and reassembled. The collections include everyday objects, furniture and tools related to craft and agricultural activities. As a museum, the establishment pursues missions of conservation, research and transmission of traditional gestures and know-how. It extends over 97 hectares and also houses animals, as well as regular activities and events related to the seasons.
