The Museum of the Gascon Peasant, located in Toujouse in the Gers in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, is installed in a former agricultural estate typical of Gascony. The museum presents rural ways of life from the 19th and 20th centuries through residential buildings, craftsmen's workshops and an important collection of peasant tools. The collections include in particular master houses and farm laborers' houses, equipment related to armagnac production, as well as models of agricultural machines. The tour, accessible to all, is complemented by animations, demonstrations and seasonal events highlighting Gascon culture, the Occitan language and traditional know-how. An annual temporary exhibition enriches the museum's permanent offerings.
