Musée de l’Épopée de l'Industrie et de l'Aéronautique
Albert · Somme · Hauts-de-France
The Museum of Industrial and Aeronautical History, located in Albert in the Somme, is situated on a 2-hectare park and documents the industrial and aeronautical history of the region. The collection brings together approximately fifty aircraft dating from 1944 to 1970, including the C47 Dakota that participated in the Normandy Landings in 1944, the Air France Caravelle (last commercial flight in 1981) and the Castel C25S glider used for the film La Grande Vadrouille, to which are added helicopters, gliders and related equipment. The museum offers an interactive visit via mobile application with QR codes and stories from founder Marc Bétrancourt, available freely on Saturdays and by appointment on other days. Individual and group visits are offered with preferential rates for children, students, teachers and war veterans.
