The Museum of Sacred Art in Saint-Mihiel is housed in the south wing of the former Benedictine abbey of Saint-Mihiel, in the Meuse. It presents the department's collections of religious art through a collection of goldwork, sculptures and liturgical furnishings covering the period from the Middle Ages to the second half of the 20th century. The collections, comprising approximately 2000 works, notably include a set of goldwork from the 13th to the 20th century and a collection of "dressed waxes" testifying to 18th-century Lorraine production. The museum also fulfills a heritage conservation function by housing on deposit objects from Meuse communes that cannot guarantee their safety. The visit is accompanied by the discovery of the former Benedictine library, arranged to the taste of the 18th century.
