Musée d'art brut de Montpellier

Montpellier · Hérault · Occitanie

The Museum of Raw Art, Singular & Others is located in Montpellier in the Fine Arts district. It houses a permanent collection of approximately two thousand works, of which eight hundred are currently displayed over more than eight hundred square meters, tracing the movements of international Raw Art and singular creations from the early twentieth century to contemporary Outsider Art. The museum was created over fifty years ago by Fernand Michel, an artist resolutely outside the norm, and has been managed by the ADABS association since 2004. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum offers three temporary exhibitions annually, lectures, and features a specialized bookstore as well as an interior Mediterranean garden.
