Maison Jean Cousin

The Jean Cousin House, a 16th-century building located in Sens in the Yonne, is a municipal exhibition space open to the public. Although bearing the name of the Senonais painter Jean Cousin, the residence probably never housed the artist, but rather belonged to a former owner of the painting "Eva Prima Pandora" preserved at the Louvre. The building, identified by its sculpted façade and its external spiral staircase visible from Rue Jossey, successively housed the Caisse d'Épargne in the 19th century and then municipal services before being repurchased by the town. After a long closure, the ground floor was renovated as an exhibition space, thus reintegrating this remarkable building into the heritage trail of Sens.
