The Carnot Museum-Gallery, established in Villeneuve-sur-Yonne in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, is an art museum located in a rural setting. It pursues a mission of knowledge transmission and promotion of local heritage for all audiences. The museum conducts mediation activities centered around its collections and the historical riches of Villeneuve, in collaboration notably with educational institutions in the area. It provides access to the Porte de Joigny, which houses a Knights' Hall presenting the history of the National Gendarmerie. The museum operates by appointment for groups and school visitors, and offers free admission during seasonal opening hours.
