Ecomusée - Maison Michaud

Chapelle-des-Bois · Doubs · Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

The Maison Michaud Ecomuseum is a 17th-century farmhouse with a chimney, located in the Combe des Cives in Chapelle-des-Bois, in the Haut-Doubs, at an altitude of over one thousand meters. This ecomuseum illustrates the lifestyles and ingenuity of the inhabitants of the Jura in response to the mountain's climatic constraints, highlighting the adaptation of human activities to local resources. The museum offers an active experience including demonstrations of cooking in an old bread oven, carried out according to traditional craftsmanship practices. Labeled "Park Values," the establishment is part of an approach to preserving cultural heritage, environmental respect, and promoting territorial know-how. Open regularly during the season and by reservation year-round for groups, it caters to visitors wishing to discover the tangible and intangible heritage of the Haut-Jura massif.
