The Marinarium of Concarneau is a scientific presentation space operated by the National Museum of Natural History, located within the Concarneau Marine Station in Brittany, the oldest still-active marine station in the world. It offers the public an opportunity to discover local marine biodiversity through eleven aquariums and a large 120,000-liter tank hosting fauna and flora from Breton waters. Thematic exhibitions address the importance of oceans, plankton, coastlines, marine management and the Glénan archipelago, and include an educational dimension with regular activities and guided coastal tours. The station itself houses about fifty researchers, technicians and doctoral students whose work focuses on marine ecology, aquaculture and cell biology. The site is currently closed for renovations until May 26, 2026.
