The Japy Museum, museum of, is located in Beaucourt in Territoire-de-Belfort. It is dedicated to the history of Frédéric Japy (1749-1812), founder in 1777 of a manufacturing plant that transformed this small village of 263 inhabitants into a major center of French industrialization. The museum traces the evolution of the Japy company and its emblematic role in the manufacturing development of the Montbéliard region. Open Wednesday to Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., it regularly offers temporary exhibitions complementing its permanent collections. The museum remains a testament to the technical innovations and democratization of products that characterize this regional industrial heritage.
