The Museum of Peasant Life and Traditional Crafts, located in Valentigney in the Doubs, occupies a former residence nearly 250 years old that has sheltered several generations of local inhabitants. The museum is dedicated to rural life and traditional trades of the Montbéliard region, with collections focusing on the work of peasant-workers, period dwellings, and the school environment of yesteryear. Its exhibition spaces include in particular a reconstruction of a historic classroom as well as collections relating to local traditions. The museum also offers guided tours by reservation for groups and schools, as well as temporary exhibitions and regular cultural programming. The establishment is managed by the Ville Village Nature association and operates partly by appointment.
