Musée
Martel · Lot · Occitanie
The Gallo-Roman museum of Uxellodunum is located on the second floor of the Raymondie palace, a twelfth-century building situated in the heart of Martel in Lot. Founded in 1931 by the town council and the tourist office, it has been listed on the register of museums of France since 2003 and has hosted since 2015 the collections managed by the association of Friends of the Raymondie Museum. The museum organizes its collections around three themes covering Prehistory, Antiquity, the Middle Ages and Modern Times, enriched by archaeological discoveries from the Fontaine de Loulié site at Puy d'Issolud. The collections benefit from an excavation deposit allowing archaeologists and prospectors to constitute a study collection accessible to researchers. The museum also offers temporary exhibitions, activity booklets for children and guided tours on request during the summer season.
