Musée d'histoire
Verdun · Meuse · Grand Est

Museum of history dedicated to World War I, located in Verdun in the Meuse department. The Poilus of Verdun - Museum of the Guard Post presents the daily life of French soldiers through a collection of objects that belonged to combatants. The museum particularly traces the journey of Michel Dupré, a draftsman from Mayenne who enlisted in August 1914, drawing on his sketches and the photographs of Pierre Brancher, from the same regiment. The collections allow for a faithful reconstruction of soldiers' lives during the conflict. The museum also offers a restaurant and a militaria shop on its site.
