The Museum of Weights, located in Mécringes in Marne, is one of two French museums entirely devoted to weights, measures and scales. Inaugurated in September 2022, it presents collections spanning from the Middle Ages to contemporary times, including rare pieces and scales from various periods. The museum also offers an exhibition on the creation of the Metric System, a founding event in French scientific history, as well as collections of monetary and postal weights, foreign weights and equipment from the weights and measures control services. It is a space with educational and heritage purposes, accessible only by appointment, located in the hamlet of Boulante.
