The departmental museum of ancient and contemporary art (MUDAAC) is established in Épinal, in the Vosges, in the Grand Est region. Recognized as a museum of France, within the meaning of the Heritage Code, it is labeled accordingly. The institution houses collections of ancient art and contemporary art, supplemented by archaeological collections. The museum thus pursues a generalist approach, covering several periods and disciplines of art history and material culture. It constitutes a major cultural facility of departmental heritage.
