Musée
Hennezel · Vosges · Grand Est

The Museum of La Résidence, located in Hennezel in Saône-Lorraine in the Vosges, is housed in a former master glassmaker's residence, La Résidence, a historic property of the Clairey glassworks now closed. The museum documents regional glassmaking expertise over six centuries, with collections of glassware, tools, models and photographic documents, supplemented by sections devoted to the old trades of the Vosges forest: needle makers, edge-tool makers, clog makers, loggers and charcoal makers. The museum's organization includes a first room tracing the history of glass since the late Middle Ages, with a focus on the historic role of the Hennezel family, as well as thematic spaces covering glass, iron, wood and embroidery. A room is dedicated to the Resistance and the memory of Abbé Mathis, curate of Hennezel who died during the Second World War. Managed by the Saône Lorraine association in collaboration with the municipality, the museum is part of a local artisanal and historical heritage preservation initiative.
