The Museum of Faience and Fine Arts of Nevers, bearing the name of Frédéric Blandin, has been located since 1975 in the Hôtel Roussignol, a building constructed in 1810 on the remains of the Notre-Dame Abbey. It houses collections of faience, paintings and antique objects, enriched since the 19th century by major donations, including that of Jacques Gallois in 1847. The museum occupies a privileged location in the heart of the historic faience makers' district of Nevers, near traditional manufactures and enamelers. It offers visitors permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, themed botanical gardens, as well as educational and mediation programs for school groups and other visitors. The site also has a shop, a café and a specialized documentation center dedicated to faience and fine arts.
