The Museum of Natural History and Ethnography of Colmar is the result of a learned society founded in 1859 by Alsatian notables and scientists. Recognized, it preserves and promotes approximately 135,000 specimens in the fields of natural sciences and ethnography. Located in the heart of the historic Little Venice district, it is committed to disseminating scientific knowledge through cultural and educational activities, a library and a scientific bulletin. The museum offers permanent and temporary exhibitions, scientific workshops, naturalist outings and guided tours accessible to all audiences. It is closely linked to the Society of Natural History and Ethnography of Colmar, with which it continues ongoing research and enrichment of the collections.
