The Museum of Art and History of Lisieux is located in one of the last half-timbered houses in the city, a historic building that is an integral part of the visit. The collections presented illustrate the history of Lisieux from the Gallo-Roman period until the Second World War, a period that profoundly transformed the urban fabric of the city. The museum also displays works by renowned artists such as Eugène Boudin and Gustave Courbet, as well as creations by local artists offering perspectives on the Norman landscape. The establishment covers the fields of archaeology, sacred art, fine arts, popular arts and traditions, and local heritage. Located in Lisieux, Calvados, the museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, with an average visit duration estimated at one hour.
