The archaeological museum of Ruscino is located in Perpignan, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, on the site of the ancient city of Ruscino which preceded the present-day town. This archaeological site, situated on a promontory overlooking the lower valley of the Têt, successively served as the capital of the Sordes, a Latin city, and a military relay during the Muslim conquest. The site preserves significant archaeological heritage that documents regional history from protohistory to the contemporary period. Ongoing research combines traditional excavations and non-invasive analysis techniques, particularly geophysical surveying, to deepen knowledge of the site. The site has a research center and offers public access to discover this exceptional heritage.
