The Archaeological Museum of Maubourguet, located in the Hautes-Pyrénées, is a museum dedicated to archaeological remains from the canton. Its major element is the mosaic of the God Ocean, a Gallo-Roman ceramic of 20 m² uncovered in 1979 in the Saint-Girons district, likely from a villa with thermal baths dated to the 4th century. Beyond this central piece, the museum presents a varied collection spanning prehistory to the Middle Ages: coins, hand axes, hatchets, ceramics, ancient pottery and sarcophagi. The exhibition route includes a reconstruction of the cloister of Maubourguet's first church and spans 250 m². A 25-minute slideshow is offered to visitors to contextualize the excavation campaigns of the mosaic.
