Musée
Tarbes · Hautes-Pyrénées · Occitanie

The Museum of Deportation and Resistance in Tarbes is dedicated to the history of the Second World War, particularly from the perspective of deportation and resistance experiences. Its collections include photographs, poster reproductions, stamps and press clippings, as well as original objects from former deportees and resistance fighters: camp uniforms, objects made in the camps, weapons and resistance equipment. The museum broadly addresses the second world conflict by privileging a regional perspective, documenting the people and events in the history of the Hautes-Pyrénées during the 1930s and 1940s. Located on rue Georges Lassalle in Tarbes, it also preserves rich documentation accessible by appointment. Access to exhibitions and cultural activities is free.
