The House of Gold in Limousin is a museum dedicated to the history of gold mining in the region, covering approximately 2500 years of gold rush. Located in the heart of the medieval village of Chalard, in Haute-Vienne, the museum is set in the midst of nature, on the banks of the Isle, a river historically exploited for gold. The museum offers an exhibition in an underground space evoking the world of mining, complemented by activities and group visits. Managed by the Chalard Initiatives association, the venue benefits from accessibility features including sign language translation, subtitling and adapted hearing devices.
