Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche · Haute-Vienne · Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The Art and History Museum of Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, opened since May 2025, occupies a renovated 700 m² building in the heart of this medieval town in Haute-Vienne. Its inaugural exhibition "Being Arédien, Yesterday and Today" traces the history of the territory from Prehistory to the present day through four periods of prosperity, combining archaeology, fine arts, porcelain and archives. The exhibition, renewed every two years, offers a sensitive approach to local heritage enriched with educational resources and digital content. The museum also hosts a Micro-Folie providing access to more than 5,000 works from national and international collections. Beyond its vocation for exhibition and conservation, the institution supports the valorization of community heritage and provides a documentation center and climate-controlled storage facilities.
