La Cuivrerie de Cerdon

The Cuivrerie de Cerdon is an industrial history museum established in Cerdon, in Ain, bearing witness to metal processing activity since 1867. Built around an old mill and utilizing the motive force of local waters, the site documents over 150 years of expertise in copper work, goldsmithing, and boilermaking. The workshops preserve in exceptional condition their tools and machines, listed as historical monuments, illustrating the evolution of industrial processes in the 19th and 20th centuries. The Cuivrerie supplied prestigious utensils and objects to major French kitchens, luxury hotels, and international clients, from Japan to the Maghreb. The museum offers demonstrations of traditional craftsmanship and immerses visitors in the material history of this place of excellence.
