Ecomusée Rural du Pays Nantais

Vigneux-de-Bretagne · Loire-Atlantique · Pays de la Loire

The Rural Ecomuseum of the Nantais Region is a site museum established in Vigneux-de-Bretagne, in Loire-Atlantique. It is organized around several distinct locations: the Pâquelais site, a former village farm housing approximately 5,000 exhibits, the Neuf Mill dedicated to buckwheat processing, and the Milling House. The museum documents rural life and traditional crafts of the Nantais Region through habitat reconstructions, artisan workshops (cooper, wheelwright) and a display of tools and agricultural machinery from the animal traction era. The sites include reconstructed spaces such as the Vignolais house, a cellar, a bread oven and a stable. The institution offers guided tours and organizes seasonal events, including a Spring Festival dedicated to ploughing, as well as thematic workshops.
