The Museum of Ancient Printing is a workshop-museum founded in 1997 in Blain, Loire-Atlantique, in the former stables of the Groulais castle. Managed by the Amagraph association (Friends of Graphic Arts), it brings together ancient printing machines in working order, constituting a material and immaterial heritage linked to graphic techniques. The collections are organized around four fields: typography, printing (including a linotype), printmaking (linocut, lithography, engraving) and bookbinding. The museum offers free guided and self-guided visits during the season, as well as workshops, professional training, demonstrations and regular activities designed to transmit the know-how of ancient printing. It also welcomes artists seeking resources for printmaking practice and organizes exhibitions that bring historical printing into dialogue with contemporary creation.
