The Hèbre Museum is an art and history museum founded in the second half of the 19th century in Rochefort, in Charente-Maritime. It brings together varied collections ranging from fine arts to extra-European ethnology, notably orientalist painting and realistic landscape. Its collections reflect Rochefort's maritime and exploratory history, with objects brought back by famous local explorers, including the Lesson brothers in Oceania and naval officers Silvestre and Hazard in Asia. The ground floor houses the CIAP, a center for the interpretation of architecture and heritage, which offers a relief map from 1835 and interactive tools tracing the urban and social history of the city since its founding in 1666.
