Rochefort · Charente-Maritime · Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The Museum of Trades of Yesteryear, located in Rochefort in Charente-Maritime, is housed in a former 20th century warehouse with Eiffel-style architecture. The museum presents an exhibition of over one thousand square meters dedicated to trades and small businesses from the early 20th century, bringing together thousands of advertising objects and full-scale reconstructions of period shops. The visit, lasting an average of one to one and a half hours, offers an immersion into the commercial world before the advent of supermarkets and contemporary consumer society. The museum welcomes individual visitors and groups, and offers accessibility services and educational workshops.
