The Provins and Provinois Museum is housed in the Maison Romane, one of the oldest civil buildings in Provins, whose 12th-century façade and diamond-shaped window are remarkable architectural elements. It presents archaeological collections covering the period from Prehistory to the 19th century, resulting from excavations conducted in Provins and its surroundings. The museum notably preserves exceptional remains from the Saint-Quiriace treasure, including a chasuble of Saint Edme in 13th-century silk lampas, a 15th-century Trinitarian icon and various pieces of goldsmithing. Its collections are also enriched by sculptures, paintings and rare objects such as a foundling wheel, historically used to receive abandoned children. It offers a self-guided visit of approximately 45 minutes.
