The Villevêque Museum-Château is a fortress built in the 12th century, located in Rives-du-Loir-en-Anjou in Maine-et-Loire. It houses the collection of medieval and Renaissance art assembled by Daniel Duclaux, an enlightened collector, and bequeathed to the City of Angers in 2002 by his wife. This collection, constituted from the 1950s onwards, comprises mainly sculptures, art objects, tapestries and furniture covering a period from the 6th to the 16th century. The museum displays Hispano-Moorish and Italian ceramics, Limoges enamels, ivory objects, bronze statuettes from the 15th and 16th centuries, as well as polychrome wooden sculptures. It presents its collections mainly on the ground floor and offers access to the garden.
